New year new plan January 1, 2007
Posted by Robert Puddy in : Business , 1 comment so farWell Christmas is over, the new year is almost upon us.
With just 3 days to go to 2007 lots of people will be thinking through the highs and lows of 2006.
What did I do right?
what did I do wrong?
where could I improve?
what are my goals for 2007?
The week between Christmas and new year is a time for reflection, a time to set your new years resolutions
Most of us though quickly forget those resolutions, and life goes on in much the same way it did in 2006. So this time next year you’re going to be left wondering how another year has gone by without you actually reaching the goals you set yourself.
Business offline or online has to have a direction, a framework, a plan to work to if you’re not to be dragged around from one opportunity to another with nothing to show for all the work you put in.
I see people jumping from one new program to another scared to death they are going to miss out on the next big thing, mortified by the prospect of losing out to a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Let me tell you folks opportunity knocks everyday.
I have a friend who calls this slot machine marketing put in a dime and pull the handle, if you didn’t hit the jackpot move on to the next slot machine put in another dime and pull the handle.
Just stop, think for a minute of all the programs you joined this year that didn’t deliver quick enough and you moved on to the next slot machine. Add up all the numbers of downlines you created in those programs before you moved on.
Maybe you got 50 people in your downline in opportunity one, 100 in opp two and so on.
What happened to those people in your downlines when you left and moved on?
Maybe you didn’t move on, maybe you spent weeks or months promoting a program only to see it closed.
Maybe you have been doing this for several years, all with the same results. Just maybe you left behind 1000’s of people in downlines along the way.
So lets play what if…
What if instead of promoting all those opportunities you had been promoting you instead.
What if you had found a way to get all those downlines to opt in to a list first, then promoted opportunities to them.
What if after a whole year of doing this you now had a list of 1000 subscribers who you could keep in touch with and tell them about the next great opportunity.
Now you have a business
Now all that worked isn’t wasted
Now you have a plan
Now it doesn’t matter if a program closes down or doesn’t deliver.
So lets list the excuses of why people don’t do this and see if yours made the list.
I don’t know how to write
I don’t know what to write
What could I tell them if I had a list
How do I find the content
I’m a newbie I have only being doing this for 5 years what do I know.
Well for a start you know what not to do, you have been doing the wrong things all this time. Hell it must be wrong because you’re not making any money at it.
Golden nugget time Pay attention…
I have only ever dropped this little tid bit at a live conference or workshop.
Write a how to manual on the program you are promoting lay out what works for you, what each of the links inside the members area does how it can help them, What the best thing to use it for etc etc
Use that as your free gift to get people to subscribe to your list, the ones that do are hot prospect for the program you are promoting, because they wanted to learn more.
Now you have them on a list, you can email once a week with more tips on how best to use the programme each time giving them your affiliate link.
You can also tell them about other programs you are presently a member of, and how they work together to help you promote your main business opportunity.
Here is the real kicker doing this…
tell the program owner what you did, give him a copy of the manual. Tell him to feel free to offer it to the entire membership to help them use the program better.
Hell tell him all his members can use it to give away to help sell his program. Give him a rebrandable copy, he can offer to the whole membership.
Set up a squeeze page to capture their email address to get the free rebrandable report that they can use to give away
to sell the program
The report has all your affiliate links in it and if you were smart a url to subscribe to your list. Now when those members give it away as a lead in to the main program, there is a link in there pointing to the squeeze page to get their own rebrandable copy
You know have the program owner helping you build your list
Why would he do that?
Because you just gave him a tool that all his affiliates can use to grow their downlines and his program. With absolutely no effort on his part.
You now have a hot prospect list, you can promote other programs to.
Wait go one better, start a membership site of your own add all the reports in the members area for them to download
and rebrand. Make it a free entry to grow the database quickly
Find a way to add extra value that you could charge a fee for and make a residual income from your list building. Add in a OTO when they join, Voila you have a business
How about all those PLR products you bought over the years and did nothing with?
Would they help to add content, would they make up part of the OTO?
Your success in 2007
