$7 report customer feed back needed please

I just finished a report on how to monetize your list building efforts and how to structure the 4 pages you need to make any squeeze or lead capture page campaign profitable. I announced it to a small list yesterday to test both the purchase system and the conversion rate. Both were fairly succesful BUT…

It seems quite a few had trouble with either getting the email for the log in or in some cases realising it wasnt a free product. SO…

I would really appreciate some comments from those who either purchased or tried to purchase and had a problem. here is the link to the report again just in case you missed it my free resources.com

One of the things I would like to have you comment on was the form itself, did it confuse you into thinking it was just a subscription form and therefore free, and if it did how could I alter the page to make it clear.

Thanks
Robert

Hi Robert – how about adding something like “Yes, Give me my $7.00 report so I can start monetizing my list building right away” on the sign p form? Because while you do mention it at the top (and that’s plenty clear and works) it is a bit confusing below – and the fact that your url is “myfreeresources.com” – also leads one to think that you’ve got two different offers going on.

    Warmly,

    Cheryl

    Hi Robert,

I purchased the product but was not able to access the site.

No confusion on the form it was quite clearly a paid product.

The login details seemed to be distorted.
My login email had the .com cut off and the password
    didn’t work.

Support ticket sent yesterday to admin@advertisingknowhow.com
    Anothe today to support desk.

    Many thanks for your help,

    Ian McLaren

Quite clearly a report that is going to cost $7 Robert.

    Uncle Bob:
I thought that the page was clear, but I have to agree with Cheryl (above) that I can understand how the url might have confused somone. I had no problem with the download page, but did have an issue with the bonuses.

    Wishing you a larger life,

    Hi Robert,

It seems to me there may be some confusion due to the process. For example…

You want a cup of coffee. You see a sign on a shop that says “Fresh Coffee 99 cents” So you go into the shop. Before you get past the door someone greets you and says “Would you like some fresh coffee for 99 cents?” You say “Yes!”. They say “Great!, fill out this form.”

This process seems disjointed to me. If I’m going to buy something, I want to buy it, not fill out an application. I might part with some information afterwards, but I don’t need any more reasons to turn away.

    Hope this helps.

    Andy

    Mr P.

I’d re-write the three paragraphs under the headline. They are poorly written. And the gaps between words make the paragraphs hard to read. If you can’t re-write to close the gaps, turn off full justification.

    Some confusing points:
The report is about squeeze pages yet in the body and bullets you talk about multiple pages. A squeeze page is just one page isn’t it?

In the paragraphs you mention four pages but in the bullets, only three.

I didn’t see a problem with the form. I attempted to order but found, sadly, my PP account is empty. Thanks–in no small part–to you and your ilk ;)

    Hey Robert,

Purchase went through fine, email came ok, login details just fine, no confusion on my part, I wanted to buy so I did.
Got the 1st download , but the two bonuses that it said would be there were just pictures nothing attached. I’ll go out on a limb and say, I gotta wait for those.
Great job so far, can’t wait to see what else comes with it.

    Hi Robert,

I think instead of using a standard submit button at the bottom you could use a snazzy graphically enhanced “Order Now” button that makes it a little more clear that they are actually purchasing something might help.

I agree with Andy there is a little confusion in the process because you are getting the information before buying the product. My suggestion would be to place the “sign up” form right after the buying process, but before they can download their product.

Nothing confusing – everything was clear.

I even bought the report but I got no product.

When I clicked the link “register” I was brought back to the sales page.

    What should I do next?

    Uncle Bob,

I’ve been a student of your methods for a while, so I had to sign up and pay for the $7 report just to see what the system was.

It’s genius in it’s simplicity, though I never thought of using a membership site for my low cost reports. Guess I’ll have to implement that now.

The part of the process that stumped me is this:
1 – The templates are missing images.
    2 – The confirmedtips.html isn’t in the .zip file
3 – You didn’t modify the report at all, even left all the links in it as from the original author. That might have been your strategy to use an unmodified report, but I feel you’re missing out on the monetization of the product aspect of the system.

Anyway, again the membership site is genius and I WILL implement that with my next product.

    Thanks,

Geeze, I thought it was free because you were asking for the feedback here. You got some set of cajones there Robby boy.

Robert asked for tech issues, here is my 1 cent : No prob at all, bought the book yesterday, same procedures as always (remember Dinner for One?) :) : Log into paypal account, hit pay now, hit return to (specified) merchant, confirm the link in the incoming email,
    and that´ s it.

    Hi Robert,

I also didn’t get or missed the URL for the $7 report download. Sent an email to admin and still have not received a reply back. I checked my spam/junk folders and email was not there either. I requested the url for the download. I downloaded the bonuses OK.

    Thanks

Same for me as some above, I have not received the product, I have a thank-you page with nothing – please advise how to access your report. Thanks,
    Linda

    Robert,

Two elements of the squeeze page could be made more clear:

    1) in the second paragraph after the headline you use the term “give” twice. A quick read suggests “free”. I know, the next paragraph plainly says “Coffee 99 cents” (borrowing a prior poster’s phrase) but who reads everything on a squeeze page? Since I trust you implicitly I could be well into the funnel before I realized my error.

    2) The first paragraph inside the coupon is a massive run on statement. It begs for bullets and more clarity. I am inclined to think it could be framed as a benefit (security, protecting identity, allowing access to updated versions, etc)

On a nit-picky note, I can’t comprehend of any set of 4 pages building a list “instantly” even if I already have a domain, product, and hosting service with autoresponder sitting at the ready (how do you spell “fat chance”?). You are usually more temperate in your claims. I can envision using the methods “immediately” or some equivalent term. The term “instantly” set my b.s. sensors on skeptical.

Can’t wait to see the report.

I was a little confused whether it was a free or paid report.

The domain and button that you have on your subscription
form should say “Submit and Order Your $7 Report!” not “Send me..” because that sounds like your sending a free report worth $7.

If people took the time to read the letter carefully, it comes clear it is a paid product but for someone who skims (me) it was a little confusing.

    Good luck with it,
    Stuart Stirling

  17. Andrew

Robert, what nobody has spotted and where I think the problem starts is with your link and domain name (my FREE resources.com). To paraphrase Andy’s comment the sign reads: Free Coffee This Way ->

Also the text on the form is very difficult to read as it is all underlined.

    Sounds interesting though, Cheers,
    Aj

I purchased (through paypal) a copy of the report, but was never sent an email notification with the download link?? How do I access this report…?

  19. Andrew Stark

    Hi Robert

Read the report, it’s exactly what I’m doing with my listbanditexpert site, so it’s good to know I’m on the right track.
