Listening to experts can make you feel inadequate May 26, 2008
Posted by Robert Puddy in : Personal , 4 commentsDespite doing this marketing online thing for 5 years it still amazes me how much I don’t know. I had the privilege of sitting in on a management meeting at the Mike Filsaime headquarters, I’m not going to divulge what was said because it was confidential, and as i say it was a privilege, but I have to say I came away with a whole lot of stuff to do on my business that I wouldn’t have thought of.
If you ever get the chance to sit down with someone like Mike and discuss this business then take it with bells on. If your an action taker, you cannot fail to make a success of your business if you take coaching from experts. I have always said you need to get out and attend seminars and workshops, I have always said you need to take advantage of any learning experience from those that day in day out make this business tick.
But after sitting in like a fly on the wall in Mikes board room, I will be shouting from the roof tops about this stuff at every opportunity…
My personal Thanks to Mike for allowing me to listen in.

Information Overload leads to lack of focus October 22, 2007
Posted by Robert Puddy in : Personal , 5 commentsI find that when I get into that overload situation (and it happens to everyone) I simply throw everything into a pile. Then mark each project with a score from 1 to 10 of importance.
None of the 9’s get worked on until the 10’s are done, and so on
If it rated 5 or under it gets sidelined until I truly have no other projects in the pipeline, they are used as stocking fillers for those times I am truly on top of thngs.
Large projects can suck you dry of inspiration and when that happens you need to step back and concentrate on basics. This always happens to me directly after a seminar. I have just spent the last 2 weeks putting everything but the most important tasks on the back burner and simply chilling out to recharge the battery’s
Sometimes you just have to reboot your system and clear the hard drive in your brain.
Lets hear your solution for this business killer problem
What I really want to do is get you connected March 4, 2007
Posted by Robert Puddy in : Personal , 1 comment so farI’m having a hard time putting my thoughts down on paper today even this virtual paper. I had 2 phone conversations over the past 48 hours that made me stop and rethink the whole strategy for the Focus Marketing seminar in Dallas in 2 weeks.
With just 2 weeks to go I deleted the sales letter on the site, and deleted the email series I had set up in the auto responders.
Thousands of dollars of adcopy scrapped, even my two business partners have no idea what i just did. Hopefully they trust me enough to see why I did it and wont get mad at me.
So what were these two phone conversations?
One was from an attendee of last years event, She pre paid for a ticket for this years seminar way back in May 2006. She called me to make sure I hadn’t forgotten her, when I told her that we hadn’t forgot her and she was on the list of attendees
Her exact words were
“oh I’m so glad, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to attend, you changed so much for me last year I just had to make sure I had a seat before it sold out”
Not I was making sure in case i had to ask for my money back but making sure we didn’t forget her and she missed out.
The second call was from a gentleman who is a first time attendee.
During the conversation it came out that he had used his rent money to pay for the ticket, was he having second thoughts and asking for a refund?
No he was also making sure we had his name down for a seat he was just checking everything was in order and he could attend.
The first call made me very happy and proud, its part of the reason I do this.
The second call made me feel guilty and I said so, his response was “don’t be I know this is exactly what i need, I have the talent I just need the contacts, I know next year I will be writing you a testimonial”
Calls like that are the reason why I’m sitting in a hotel room 4000 miles away from my wife and family, or why I spend my time putting on workshops and setting up mastermind
groups in the UK
Now this post is officially longer than the new sales letter up on the site. But I wanted to give you an insight to where my heart is with the Focus Seminars, its about changing lives
I want to change yours, Please read the new sales letter at http://internetseminarsindallas.com/tickets/ and look into
my heart.
Your success
Robert
