Listening to experts can make you feel inadequate May 26, 2008
Posted by Robert Puddy in : Personal , trackbackDespite doing this marketing online thing for 5 years it still amazes me how much I don’t know. I had the privilege of sitting in on a management meeting at the Mike Filsaime headquarters, I’m not going to divulge what was said because it was confidential, and as i say it was a privilege, but I have to say I came away with a whole lot of stuff to do on my business that I wouldn’t have thought of.
If you ever get the chance to sit down with someone like Mike and discuss this business then take it with bells on. If your an action taker, you cannot fail to make a success of your business if you take coaching from experts. I have always said you need to get out and attend seminars and workshops, I have always said you need to take advantage of any learning experience from those that day in day out make this business tick.
But after sitting in like a fly on the wall in Mikes board room, I will be shouting from the roof tops about this stuff at every opportunity…
My personal Thanks to Mike for allowing me to listen in.

Blah Blah Blah sounds like a bunch of BS - more secrets, interesting…
Not willing to share, confidential LOL what ever.
Thank you miles, that was productive well done…
You missed the message completely, which was get out and meet people face to face. Sitting in your little cubicle at home is just as productive as sitting in your little cubicle in someones elses office. (Almost) No one makes it big in this industry without doing face to face networking in seminars, workshops and mastermind groups.
No matter how much you think you know, its always a shock when you learn how little you know from a private conversation with someone who is completely relaxed in his own enviroment. Things are talked about that normally wouldnt be, little tidbits that dont get added to reports because the person involved didnt think it was a big deal, just routine.

The point about getting out and meeting people is well made. Because I attended the Focus seminar last summer and met Tim Brocklehurst I was able to approach him for an interview as part of a product I’m producing.
My project partner is an experienced offline marketer but even she learned heaps from our time with Tim.
Not just that but he is even helping us to line up out next expert!
This kind of magic does not happen by staying at home!
